Biography
Born on March 6, 1923 in the village of Scherbovo, now Torzhok District, Tver Region . Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1945. He graduated from seven classes of junior high school.
In 1940, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In 1942 he graduated from the Odessa military aviation school of pilots. In the battles of World War II from August 1943. He fought on the Voronezh, 1st and 2nd Ukrainian fronts. He participated in the battles for the liberation of Bogodukhov, Akhtyrka, Sumy, Kharkov, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Berdichev, Vinnitsa, Kamenets-Podolsk.
In the days of fighting for the forcing of the Dnieper River, the expansion of the bridgehead on its right bank, in the days of the battles for the liberation of Kiev, Lieutenant A. P. Feoktistov showed exceptional skill and assertiveness in carrying out the tasks. Carrying out 4-5 sorties a day, Lieutenant A.P. Feoktistov stubbornly broke through to a target through a shower of barrage, fought off attacks from enemy fighters, smashing tanks, motor vehicles, field and antiaircraft guns on the ground.
November 6, 1943 when performing a combat mission, his plane hit the enemy barrage zone and was shot down. German fighters flew at the wounded "silt". Aleksey brought out an almost uncontrollable car from the shelling of the enemy, flew over the front line and landed the plane on the land that had just been liberated by our troops.
By January 1945, the senior pilot of the 809th assault aviation regiment, Lieutenant A.P. Feoktistov, had made 137 combat sorties for the bombardment and attack of military equipment, railway echelons, cargo vehicles, and enemy manpower. He distinguished himself in the final battles for the liberation of Czechoslovakia from fascism.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated May 15, 1946 for exemplary performance of the combat tasks of the command to destroy enemy personnel and equipment and showing courage and heroism to Lieutenant Alexei Petrovich Feoktistov, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal .
After the end of the Great Patriotic War, he continued service in the Air Force of the USSR. On August 23, 1952, Captain Alexei Petrovich Feoktistov died.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , the Red Banner , World War 1-st and 2-nd degrees, the Red Star , medals.
