Zirgu street ( Latvian: Zirgu iela ) is a street in the Old Town (Riga) , located between Valnu and Shkunyu Streets . Crosses the streets of Meistaru and Kenya , limits the area of Livs from the north. The length of the street is 267 meters [1] .

History
One of the oldest streets in Riga, originated in the 13th century. On old maps (1334) is indicated as Klibā Skrodera (lame tailor?). The name Zirgu (Horse) appears in 1440. In the XVI century there were stables on the street. Until 1939, the street was known as Lielā Zirga, then it was renamed Zirgu.
At the site of the building of the Ministry of Finance of Latvia , the ancient riverbed of the Riga river was excavated. The depth of the channel reached 5-6 meters from the surface of the earth. Here were found many tools, jewelry, weapons and other artifacts of the XIV-XV centuries [2] .

- On the corner with Meistaru street is the " House with Cats ", opposite it is the building of the Big Guild . The entire odd side of the street from Meistaru Street to Dome Square is occupied by the building of the Ministry of Finance of Latvia.
Street in the cinema
A number of scenes of the television series “ Seventeen Moments of Spring ” were filmed on the street: here Kat gets out of the sewer hatch, then goes to the bomb shelter at night, and the next morning, taking the children from there, she hurries to Shtirlitsa’s car [3] , [4] .
