Biography

Petr Sinelnikov was born on October 9, 1912 in the village of Ploskaya Dubrava (now the Morshansky District of the Tambov Region ). After completing seven classes of school, he worked first on the collective farm , then in his career. In October 1934, Sinelnikov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1939, he graduated from junior lieutenant courses. Since the beginning of World War II - on its fronts [1] .

By April 1945, Senior Lieutenant Peter Sinelnikov was acting as commander of the battery of the 44th Artillery Regiment of the 33rd Infantry Division of the 3rd Shock Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished during the storming of Berlin . On April 24, 1945, the Sinelnikov battery with its fire supported the actions of rifle units in the suburb of Berlin Pankov . Being surrounded, Sinelnikov organized a perimeter defense and managed to break through to his own. Breaking into the center of Berlin, the Sinelnikova battery fired at the Reichstag . All in all, in the battles for Berlin, the gunners of the Sinelnikov battery destroyed 5 tanks, 13 armored personnel carriers and a large number of enemy soldiers and officers [1] .

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of May 31, 1945 for "exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command on the front of the struggle against the German invaders and showing courage and heroism" Star " number 6759 [1] .

After the war, Sinelnikov continued his service in the Soviet Army. In 1952 he graduated from the Higher Officers Artillery School. In 1954, in the rank of Major Sinelnikov was dismissed. He lived and worked first in Tambov , then in Morshansk . He died in 1993, was buried in Morshansk [1] .

He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and two Orders of the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
