Gerbil (tributary of Alatyr)


Gerbil - a river in Russia , flows in the Ardatovsky district of the Republic of Mordovia . The mouth of the river is 34 km along the left bank of the Alatyr river. The length of the river is 15 km, the basin area is 59.4 km².

The source of the river is located in forests 12 km northwest of the city of Ardatov . The river flows to the southeast, with the exception of the lower reaches, it flows through an uninhabited forest. It falls into Alatyr opposite Ardatov .

According to the state water register of Russia, it belongs to the Upper Volga Basin District , the water sector of the river is Alatyr from the source to the mouth, the river sub-basin is Sura. The river basin - (Upper) Volga to the Kuibyshev reservoir (without the Oka basin) [2] .
