Biography
Born in 1914 in the city of Ulan-Ude, Republic of Buryatia .
In 1942 he was drafted into the Red Army by the Svobodnensky district military enlistment office of the Khabarovsk Territory . From the same year at the front.
On July 20, 1944, as part of the unit, the machine gunner Red Army soldier Yakovlev crossed the Western Bug River near the village of Opalin. In a battle on a bridgehead under enemy fire, he brought cartridges, ensured uninterrupted supply of machine-gun crews, which allowed him to inflict significant damage. On April 20, 1945, in the battle for the village of Coenstein, Junior Sergeant Yakovlev destroyed the calculation of the anti-tank gun, which helped to advance our tanks. In this battle, Yakovlev also destroyed 3 and captured 2 opponents. For this battle, Junior Sergeant Yakovlev was presented for awarding the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. The warrior did not manage to get a high award.
In the battles on the streets of Berlin on April 30, he was seriously injured. He died in the hospital after the Victory on May 26, 1945. He was buried in a fraternal cemetery in the town of Sellin, northwest of the city of Neudamm .
