Biography
Anatoly Tishchenko was born on August 22, 1943 in Taganrog , Rostov Region . He studied at secondary school number 12, at the end of the seventh grade, continued his studies at the vocational school number 2 in the cabinet-maker, later working in the Taganrog furniture factory from 1960 to 1966. He began to actively engage in rowing at the age of seventeen, first trained in the Taganrog rowing team of the voluntary labor association " Labor Reserves ", since 1964 has been in " Spartacus ". He achieved his first serious success in 1966, when he won a 4x500 m relay in the adult All-Union Championship with a single kayak. German Duisburg, from where he brought two awards of bronze dignity, won on five hundred meters and in the relay.
In the 1968 championship of the Soviet Union, Tishchenko mined gold in the relay race, whereas in the following 1969 he won the champion title in three disciplines at once: at the kilometer distance, half a kilometer and in the relay. Later, at the European Championship in Moscow, he was thrice won among the prize winners, including two times he climbed the top step of the pedestal, five hundred meters high and in the relay. For these achievements at the end of the season he was awarded the honorary title " Honored Master of Sports of the USSR ."
In 1970, Tishchenko again became the champion of the All-Union Championship among single kayaks at a distance of 500 meters and in the relay. Thanks to a series of successful performances, he won the right to defend the country's honor at the World Championships in Copenhagen, in the same disciplines as at the USSR Championship, won two gold medals. A year later, he went to the World Championships in Belgrade, where he managed to win the bronze relay program. He achieved the last significant result in the 1972 season, when he won gold for the fifth time at the All-Union Championship relay, thus becoming the nine-time champion of the Soviet Union. Shortly after these competitions, he decided to end his career as an athlete, giving way to a team of young Soviet rowers.
After completing his sports career, he graduated from the State Central Institute of Physical Culture (now the Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sports, Youth and Tourism ) and since 1973 worked as a trainer-teacher at the specialized junior school of Olympic reserve No. 3 in Taganrog. Over the years, many talented rowers have been trained, including his students were the multiple world champion Sergey Superata , the Olympic bronze medalist and the multiple world champion Anatoly Tishchenko (son), World Cup winner Olga Tishchenko (daughter). In 1982, he was recognized as Honored Coach of the USSR, and in 1991, Honored Coach of Russia. Awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and the Order of Friendship of Peoples (1985), is an honorary resident of Taganrog (2001) [1] .
