Biography
Born on April 11, 1914 in the village of Spitsyno, now Seryshevsky District, Amur Region, in a peasant family. He graduated from 7 classes. He worked as a tractor driver on a collective farm.
In the Red Army in 1936-1938 and since 1942. From the same year at the front. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943.
The commander of the 685th Infantry Regiment’s regiment, candidate sergeant Ivan Spitsin, a member of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, and a group of soldiers near the village of Kamenka, Repkinsky district, Chernihiv region of Ukraine , October 15, 1943 crossed the river on the right bank of the Dnieper River, where he suppressed several enemy firing points, helping to force river units of the 685th Infantry Regiment.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 30, 1943, for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown to Sergeant Spitsin Ivan Yakovlevich, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .
After the war, I. Ya. Spitsin was demobilized. He lived and worked in the city of Balkhash, Karaganda region of Kazakhstan , then in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, the city of Frunze.
Retired Lieutenant Spitsin I. Ya. Died on June 12, 1979.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , medals.
