Biography
Born on June 13, 1913 in the village of Pervaya Konstantinovka, now Chaplinsky district, Kherson region of Ukraine, into a peasant family. Ukrainian. He graduated from elementary school. He worked as a tractor driver on a collective farm.
In the Red Army since 1941. At the front in World War II since July 1941. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1945.
The commander of the detachment of the 696th separate engineer battalion, sergeant Mikhail Tymoshenko, on the night of October 17, 1943, while crossing the Dnieper River in the Byvalki village of the Loyovsky district of the Gomel region of Belarus on landing boats under enemy fire with the sapper soldiers entrusted to him, successfully transported to the right bank of the Dnieper infantry, and then artillery, which contributed to the capture and retention of the bridgehead.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 30, 1943, for the exemplary execution of the combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown to Sergeant Timoshenko Mikhail Kuzmich, he was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal .
In 1945, M.K. Timoshenko graduated from the Leningrad Military Engineering School. Since 1947, Junior Lieutenant Timoshenko M.K. in reserve.
He lived in the village of Emerald, Dzhankoy district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Prior to retirement, he worked as a manager of a state farm department. He was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 2nd convocation. He died on June 24, 1990 . He was buried in the village of Emerald.
He was awarded the orders of Lenin , World War 1 degree, two orders of the Red Star , medals.
The name of the Hero bears the street in the village of Pervaya Konstantinovka of the Chaplinsky district of the Kherson region of Ukraine .
