Mauricio Fernandes Aros Bahamondes ( Spanish: Mauricio Fernando Aros Bahamóndez ; March 9, 1976, Punta Arenas , Chile ) is a Chilean footballer , a former midfielder known for playing for the Universidad de Chile club and the Chilean national team . Member of the 1998 World Cup .

Club career
Aros is a graduate of the Deportes Concepcion Club. In 1995, he made his debut for the team in the Chilean Example . In 1997, Mauricio moved to the capital's Universidad de Chile . With the new club, he won the Chile Cup twice and won the championship. In 2001, Aros moved to the Dutch Feyenoord . Due to the high competition, he could not break into the base and played in only five matches, but became the owner of the UEFA Cup . In 2002, Mauricio went on loan to Tel Aviv-based Maccabi to receive playing practice. At the end of the season, he became the champion of Israel. In the summer of 2003, Al-Hilal also left Saudi Arabia on loan.
In 2004, Mauricio returned to his homeland, where he briefly played for Uachipato and Cobreloa . In 2007, Aros moved to Universidad de Concepcion with whom he became the champion of Chile for the third time. After playing for two seasons, he left the club and played for O'Higgins and Union Temuco , where he ended his career in 2012.
International Career
On April 29, 1998, in a friendly match against the Lithuanian national team, Mauricio made his debut for the national team of Chile .
In 1998, Aros was included in the application for the national team to participate in the World Cup in France. At the tournament, he took part in the match against the Brazil team [2] . In 1999, Aros played at the America's Cup. In 2001, Mauricio, as part of the national team, participated in the America’s Cup for the second time. At the tournament, he played against Venezuela [3] and Ecuador [4] . In 2004, Aros performed for the third time at the America's Cup . He played in the tournament in the fights of Costa Rica [5] and Paraguay [6] .
