Biography
Born June 15, 1907 in the village of New Pshenevo [1] in a peasant family. Mordvin. He worked on a collective farm.
In the Red Army since June 1941. In the army since March 1943. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943.
The sapper of the 4th separate engineer battalion, the Red Army soldier Kuzma Chekirov, while crossing the Dnieper River on October 15-17, 1943, distinguished himself in the construction of a pier for a ferry crossing and on the crossing across the Dnieper in the area of the urban type Loyev, Loyevsky district, Gomel region of Belarus.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 30, 1943, for exemplary execution of combat missions of command and courage and heroism shown to this, Red Army soldier Chekirov Kuzma Emelyanovich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal .
After the war, K.E. Chekirov was demobilized. Since 1945 he lived in the city of Chelyabinsk. He worked at the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. He was elected deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 2nd convocation.
He died on February 21, 1982. He was buried in Chelyabinsk at the Assumption Cemetery .
He was awarded the Orders of Lenin , Red Banner , Red Star , and medals.
On the school building in the village of New Pshenevo, a memorial plaque was erected in memory of the glorious countryman.
