Biography
In the years 1912-1920. - Minister of the Interior of Liechtenstein. In 1918, he was one of the founders of the Progressive Civil Party and its long-standing chairman. He was also editor of the newspaper Liechtensteiner Volksblatt.
In 1921 he was appointed to the princely council, and after the adoption of the new Constitution in October 1921, he became the first Prime Minister of Liechtenstein. After his resignation in 1922, he lived for some time in Vienna, then founded his own legal and insurance agency in Vaduz. Since 1925 he was a representative of the Swiss insurance company Zürich-Versicherung.
In 1928, he again entered the public service.
- 1928-1950 - Chairman of the Board; 1950-1957 - Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank and the Central Bank of Liechtenstein,
- 1930-1953 - Chairman of the Supreme Court.
In 1930-1932. He was a member of parliament. In the years 1928-1955. - Chairman of the Historical Society of the Principality of Liechtenstein. He was the author of numerous publications on the history of Liechtenstein, genealogical research. In 1924, he was one of the founders of the Caritas Charitable Foundation, in the same year he became one of the founders of the Liechtenstein People's Society, which he directed until the mid 1940s.
