Endemic of Madagascar [1] .

Description

Medium-sized ants with a wide sub-square head and long serrated jaws attached at the lateral edges of the anterior part of the clypeus . At the front edge of the clypeus, 6-7 teeth. The main body color is from reddish brown to dark brown. Measurements of working ants: head length (HL) - 1.16-1.91 mm, head width (HW) - 1.16-2.06 mm, ratio of head width to its length (HW / HL x 100 = CI) - 99-108, the length of the scapus (SL) is 0.94-1.48 mm, the scapus index (the ratio of the length of the scapus to the width of the head; SI) is 67-80, the length of the mandibles (ML) is 1.34-2.38 mm , chest length (WL) - 1.46-2.27 mm. The maxillary palps consist of 4 segments, and the lower lip of 3 segments [1] .

The species was first described in 2014 by the Japanese entomologist Masashi Yoshimura and the American worldmecologist Brian L. Fisher ; Department of Entomology, California Academy of Sciences , San Francisco , California , USA ) [1] .
