Biography
Born on August 11, 1921 in the village of Bratki (now the Ternovsky district of the Voronezh region ). Member of the CPSU since 1944. Primary education.
In 1940 he was drafted into the Red Army . In the battles in World War II since June 1941. The mortar Chernov was especially distinguished during the liberation of Belarus.
On January 13, 1944, during a battle near the village of Beavers, Sergeant Chernov advanced with a mortar at an open firing position and conducted targeted fire. Suppressed 2 machine gun points, eliminated more than 10 opponents. By order of February 3, 1944, Sergeant Chernov Vladimir Petrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree
On July 12-14, 1944, the assistant platoon commander of the 1323rd Infantry Regiment, Sergeant Chernov, in the battle near the city of Pinsk in the Brest Region of Belarus, replaced the failed platoon commander and led the fighters into the attack. I personally destroyed the enemy machine gun with the anti-tank grenade along with the crew. By order of August 6, 1944, Sergeant Chernov Vladimir Petrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree
On October 30, 1944, in the battle of the village of Embute, 14-15 km northeast of the city of Priekule, the commander of the calculation of the 82-mm mortar, Sergeant Chernov, advanced with a mortar into the battle formations of the infantry. With precision fire, the mortar guns crushed 4 firing points and exterminated more than 10 opponents.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for exceptional courage, courage and fearlessness shown in the final in battles with enemy invaders, Sergeant Chernov Vladimir Petrovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree.
In 1945 V.P. Chernov was demobilized. He lived in the city of Frunze . He died on October 17, 1947.
