Biography
Born on February 3, 1915 in the village of Petrovka now Kurmanayevsky district of the Orenburg region in a peasant family. In 1930 he graduated from the village school, in 1933 - the school of factory apprenticeship in the city of Buzuluk, Orenburg Region , in 1935 - the training complex at the melange factory in the city of Barnaul, Altai Territory . From 1933 he worked at this plant as a master of a melange shop, then - an instructor in the Barnaul city committee of the Komsomol. Member of the CPSU (b).
In the Red Army since 1936. In 1941 he graduated from the tank school. On the front in the Great Patriotic War since July 1941.
The commander of a tank platoon of a separate tank battalion, Lieutenant Fedor Fomin, especially distinguished himself in battles on November 16, 1941, for the settlement of Ust-Tosno of the Leningrad Region . The platoon entrusted to Lieutenant Fomin FF destroyed six bunkers, suppressed the fire of two guns, destroyed a large number of opponents. When Lieutenant Fomin's tank was hit, he fought a battle for five days before reinforcements arrived, leaving him as the winner.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 6, 1942, Lieutenant Fomin Fyodor Frolovich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union for the exemplary performance of combat missions of the command and the courage and heroism shown at the same time.
However, the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal did not manage to receive the highest awards of the Motherland. February 16, 1942 in a battle near the village of Pogostye, Kirovsky District of the Leningrad Region, F. F. Fomin was killed. He was buried in a mass grave near the village of Pogost.
After the war, he was reburied in a mass grave in the village of Novaya Maluksa, Kirovsky District of the Leningrad Region .

A stele with a bas-relief of Hero was installed in the village of Kurmanayevka, Kurmanayevsky district of the Orenburg region . In 1980, the name Fomin F. F. was assigned to Barnaul vocational school No. 19. In 1985, a monument was opened in the courtyard of the school.
