Biography
Born November 2, 1922 in the village of Loshaki, Sychevsky district [1] in a peasant family. Secondary education.
In the Red Army since June 1941. In 1942 he graduated from the Smolensk Artillery School (evacuated to Irbit ). Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1942. In the army since November 1942.
The commander of the battery of the 1848th anti-tank artillery regiment, Captain Konstantin Skachkov skillfully organized a battery crossing on the Dnieper River on September 28, 1943 in the vicinity of the village of Borodaevka in the Verkhnedneprovsky District of the Dnipropetrovsk Region of Ukraine and, for eleven days, together with the rifle units, repelled enemy counterattacks. October 9, 1943 was seriously injured, but continued to lead the battle. The artillery battery entrusted to him destroyed six tanks and a large number of opponents.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 26, 1943, Captain Konstantin Nikolayevich was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal for exemplary performance of the command's combat missions and courage and heroism shown.
After the war he continued to serve in the army. In 1946 he graduated from the Higher Officer Artillery School, in 1957 - the Military Artillery Academy , and in 1962 - the Higher Academic Courses at the Military Artillery Academy.
Lieutenant Colonel K. N. Skachkov died on February 21, 1966. He was buried in the capital of Belarus - Minsk.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin , orders of World War 1 degree, Red Star , medals.
