Biography
Born on February 7, 1924 in the village of Gorbovo (now the Pskov region of the Pskov region ). He graduated from 7 classes, worked as a tractor driver in MTS.
Since the beginning of World War II, he remained in the occupied territory, since March 1943 he fought as part of the 8th Leningrad partisan brigade. Participated in military operations, acquired military skills. In February 1944, after joining partisans with combat units, Ivanov became a soldier of the 176th Infantry Regiment of the 46th Infantry Division. In the first battles he showed military skill and dexterity. He was promoted to the post of commander of the department, then he was appointed commander of the platoon. He fought on the Leningrad, then on the 2nd Belorussian fronts. Particularly distinguished himself in the battles for the liberation of Poland .
On January 14, 1945, Sergeant Ivanov was the first with his squad to burst into the village of Gostseyevo, bombarded enemy bunkers with grenades, and destroyed machine-gun crews, which ensured the advancement of shooters. By order of January 17, 1945, Sergeant Ivanov Alexey Timofeevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
On February 15, 1945, taking part in breaking through the enemy’s defense near the towns of Dubelno and Wolfsbruch, Sergeant Ivanov burst into the enemy’s trench with the soldiers and blew up the bunker and 2 guns. He was wounded, but did not leave the battlefield. By order of March 25, 1945, Sergeant Ivanov Alexey Timofeevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.
On March 30, 1945, Sergeant Ivanov was seriously wounded in the battles of the capture of the city of Danzig , but continued to fight the enemy. This fight was the last for intelligence officer Alexei Ivanov. He left the hospital as an invalid. By order of July 22, 1945, Sergeant Ivanov Alexey Timofeevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.
After recovery, the fighter was demobilized. Being awarded the three orders of Glory, he, however, was not a full gentleman. He returned home with a disability.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of December 26, 1967, in the order of re-awarding, Ivanov Alexey Timofeevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.
He lived in the city of Pskov. He worked as deputy chief accountant in the regional department of social security. He died on March 24, 1987. He was buried at the Orletsovo cemetery of Pskov.
He was awarded the orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
