Semyon Matveevich Sidorkov ( 1908 - 1950 ) - Junior sergeant of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army , participant in the Great Patriotic War , Hero of the Soviet Union ( 1944 ).

Biography
Simon Sidorkov was born on August 20, 1908 in the village of Gorodishche (now - the Bolkhovsky district of the Oryol region ). Before the war he lived and worked in Karaganda . In March 1942, Sidorkov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. Since May of that year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By September 1943, Junior Sergeant Semyon Sidorkov was commanding a battery gun of the 37th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 12th Guards Rifle Division of the 9th Guards Rifle Corps of the 61st Army of the Central Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper . On September 26, 1943, in the battles near the village of Sidorovka (now within the boundaries of the village of Lubech, Repkin district, Chernihiv region of Ukraine ), Sidorkov’s crew destroyed 1 tank, 2 armored vehicles and more than 30 enemy soldiers and officers. On September 29, Sidorkov and his comrades crossed the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Glushets, Loyovsky District, Gomel Region, Belorussian SSR, and took an active part in the battles for the seizure, retention and expansion of the bridgehead, repelling a large number of German counterattacks [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of January 15, 1944, Junior Sergeant Semyon Sidorkov was awarded the high rank of Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal for "exemplary performance of combat missions of the command to force the Dnieper River and the courage and heroism shown by the guard ". " Under the number 3065 [1] .
After the war, Sidorkov was demobilized. He lived and worked in the Tula region . He died tragically on May 28, 1950, and was buried in the village of Komarevo, Arsenyevsky District, Tula Region [1] .
He was also awarded a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Sidorkov named a street in Karaganda [1] .
