Distribution
South America: Argentina ( Chubut Province , northern Valdez Peninsula) [1] .
Description
They feed on the juices of plants such as Asteraceae : Chuquiraga . The species was first described in 1999 by the Argentine entomologist M. Granara de Willink ( MC ) and named after the place of detection ( Patagonia ) [1] [2] . The taxon Cryptinglisia patagonica is included in the genus Cryptinglisia Cockerell, 1900 (tribe Cardiococcini ) along with the species Cryptinglisia elytropappi , Cryptinglisia lounsburyi , Cryptinglisia zizyphi [1] .
