Club career

In professional football, he made his debut in 1963 with performances for the Walsall club, in which he spent two seasons, taking part in 72 championship matches.

His game for this team attracted the attention of the representatives of the coaching staff of the Fulham club, which he joined in 1965 . He played for the London club for the next three seasons of his playing career. Most of the time spent at Fulham was the main player in the attacking team. As part of Fulham, he was one of the team's top scorers, with an average performance of 0.52 goals per game.

From 1968 to 1969 he defended the colors of the Leicester City club team. In 1969, he signed a contract with the Leeds United club, which included spent the next nine years of his career. Playing in the Leeds United, he entered the field in the main team. He was one of the top scorers in the new club, distinguishing himself by an average goal scored in at least every third game of the championship.

He completed his professional playing career at Barnsley Club, for which he played for two years.
