Biography

Born on August 22, 1900 in Gomel in the family of a teacher.

After her mother died in 1906, her father soon married a second time; Tatiana’s upbringing responsibilities passed to her older brother, the commander of the Red Army . And in 1912, the girl was given up for education by E.I. Osipova, the widow of a postal official, with whom she lived until the age of 23. [one]

Govorkova began her career in 1918. Until 1924, she worked as a teacher-sister in Moscow institutions. At the same time she studied at the Vakhtangov Theater Studio , from where in 1920 she moved to the drama art studio of Anatoly Gunst . In 1922, she left school due to illness.

In 1926, Tatyana Govorkova entered the state experimental theater workshops of Vsevolod Meyerhold , having graduated from which in 1929, continued to work in his theater. After the Meyerhold Theater was closed in 1938, Govorkova worked for two years at the Mossovet Theater , and then entered the staff of the Mosfilm film studio and the theater studio of the film actor .

In 1956 she retired. After dismissal from the staff of Mosfilm, Tatyana Govorkova’s further activities are unknown.

She died in Moscow on August 25, 1989 .
