Biography
Parmeny Sidelnikov was born on August 28, 1923 in the village of Yurt-Konstantinovka (now the Yashkinsky District of the Kemerovo Region ). The older brother is the Hero of the Soviet Union Vasily Sidelnikov . After graduating from seven classes of school he worked on the collective farm . In December 1941, Sidelnikov was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . From June 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War [1] .
By October 1943, Sergeant Parmeny Sidelnikov of Guards was the gunner of the 206th Guards Light Artillery Regiment of the 3rd Guards Light Artillery Brigade of the 1st Guards Artillery Division of the 60th Army of the Central Front . Distinguished during the battle for the Dnieper . October 6, 1943 Sidelnikov's calculation took part in battles on a bridgehead on the west bank of the Dnieper near the village of Gornostaypol, Chernobyl District, Kiev Region, Ukrainian SSR , destroying 4 tanks, 1 machine gun, 1 mortar and a large number of soldiers and officers of the enemy [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 17, 1943, Sergeant Parmeny Sidelnikov was awarded the Order of Lenin and the Gold Medal for the "exemplary performance of the combat tasks of the command on the front against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" by the guard. In May 1944, Sidelnikov was demobilized. In 1949 - 1956 he again served in the Soviet Army, was transferred to the reserve in the rank of lieutenant. He lived and worked first in Yashkino , then in Riga . In 1969, Sidelnikov graduated from the Higher Engineering and Economic Courses. He died on June 4, 1991, and was buried at the Riga Forest Cemetery [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War , 1st degree and a number of medals [1] .
In honor of the Sidelnikov brothers, a street is named in Yashkino, schools in their home village and in Yashkino [1] .
