Geography
The village of Ostrovo is located in the northern part of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district, about 13 km south-west of the city of Orekhovo-Zuevo . Altitude 130 m [3] . In the village 1 street - Slobodka [4] . The nearest village is the village of Korovino .
History
In 1926, the village was the center of the Korovino-Ostrovsky village council of the Tereninsky volost of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of Moscow province [5] .
Since 1929 - a settlement within the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region, since 1930, in connection with the abolition of the district, - as part of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district of the Moscow region.
Before the municipal reform of 2006, Ostrovo was part of the Gorsky rural district of the Orekhovo-Zuevsky district [6] .
Population
In 1926, 278 people lived in the village (124 men, 154 women), there were 53 households, of which 46 were peasant [5] . According to the 2002 census , 32 people (11 men, 21 women) [7] .
