Muthesius, Herman

German Muthezius ( German: Hermann Muthesius , April 20, 1861, Grosneuhausen - October 26, 1927, Berlin ) - German architect.

Biography

He studied at the University of Berlin and the technical school . Worked with Paul Vallo .

For three years he worked in a German construction company in Japan and traveled to other Asian countries.

In the years 1896-1904 he served as cultural attaché at the German embassy in London. He carefully studied English architecture and design. Based on the results of his work, he wrote a three-volume book Das englische Haus (English House).

One of the founders of the German Werkbund .
