Biography

He was born on May 15, 1922 in the village of Alekseevskoye (now Moshkovo , the regional center of the Novosibirsk region ). He worked on a collective farm, at the Zagotzerno elevator.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . Since December of the same year, he participated in battles with German-enemy invaders on the North-Western Front , and beat the enemy near Demyansk. In August 1942, the machine gunner Gorbachev was wounded, after recovering he returned to his regiment.

In October 1942, in battle in the area of ​​the Lovat River, the calculation of the 76-mm gun that accompanied the battalion on the offensive was disabled. There was only one gunner left. Gorbachev and his partner replaced the dead artillerymen, covered the enemy machine gun with well-aimed fire and supported the infantry attack. A few days later Gorbachev was transferred to a regimental reconnaissance platoon.

After training, he was soon included in the reconnaissance group, leaving behind enemy lines. In the first search, Red Army soldier Gorbachev participated in the capture of a valuable “language” as part of the capture group and was awarded the medal “For Courage”. In regimental intelligence, Gorbachev marched until the end of the war. He participated in the liberation of Belarus and the Baltic states, defeated the enemy in East Prussia.

On June 23, 1944, Red Army soldier Gorbachev acted as part of a reconnaissance group in the region of fourteen and a half kilometers south-west of the town of Gorodok in the Vitebsk region of Belarus. He found an ambush of opponents, entered the battle and destroyed 8 enemies with a machine gun and captured 2. By order of July 23, 1944, Red Army soldier Nikolai Gorbachev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

On October 18, 1944, in the area of ​​the settlement of Daitzig-Niklau, being in a group of scouts, burst into a trench with grenades destroyed the enemy firing point with a calculation and captured the "tongue". By order of November 2, 1944, Red Army soldier Nikolai Markovich Gorbachev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

During the offensive in East Prussia on January 20–25, 1945, Junior Sergeant Gorbachev was constantly ahead of the battle formations of rifle units, scouting individual points and the location of enemy forces, and timely delivering intelligence to the regiment headquarters. For 6 days of fighting, he personally destroyed 7 opponents and captured 8.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 24, 1945, for the exceptional courage, courage and fearlessness shown in battles with enemy invaders, Junior Sergeant Nikolai Gorbachev was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree, becoming the full holder of the Order of Glory.

The award received in the Kremlin from the hands of M. I. Kalinin. In April he returned to the regiment, took part in the assault on Koenigsberg. After the defeat of enemy Germany, the division was transferred to the Far East. Petty Officer Gorbachev ended the war in North China.

In 1945, the foreman Gorbachev N.M. was demobilized. He returned to his homeland. He lived in the city of Iskitim, Novosibirsk Region . He worked as a carpenter in the town hall. He died on February 10, 1990. He was buried in Iskitim .

He was awarded the orders of World War 1 degree, Red Star , Glory 3 degrees, medals.

In the city of Iskitim in the Walk of Fame, a bust of the full holder of the Order of Glory N. M. Gorbachev was installed.
