The Ministry of the Navy (the so-called Bahrie Nezareti ) is an executive body in the Ottoman Empire [1] , which replaced the Kapudan Pasha Institute and lasted until 1922 .
Until 1867, the Ottoman fleet was governed by the Kaptan-s dery (aka Kapudan Pasha). In 1867, the Council of Ministers carried out a number of reforms, including among the naval forces. It was decided to establish the Ministry of the Navy. The Minister of the Navy ( Bahrie Nazyrlygy ) was responsible for finance, shipbuilding and other activities. In 1922, the ministry ceased to exist; the tasks of the ministry began to be carried out directly by the command of the naval forces.
