The St. Petersburg Parents regional social movement is a volunteer organization in North-West Russia, which is engaged in helping children left without parental care, living in orphanages and in hospitals.

The main activities are the promotion of the placement of children in families, their social and professional adaptation, as well as the implementation of projects aimed at improving the quality of life of children in social institutions.
General Information
The history of the movement began in 2006 with the collection of hygiene products for children from orphanages treated in the city hospital. Cymbaline The future head of the organization, Lada Uvarova, led the topic in a parent forum where she spoke about the needs of children and how they can be helped. People responded to her messages. Gradually, the movement grew, new resources appeared, the participants could already help several hospitals and orphanages, according to their requests. In the process of visiting social institutions, volunteers of the organization began to solve the problems of social adaptation of children, individual medical problems, as well as to lead an adoptive portal for children waiting for the Russian Federation to facilitate the placement of children in new families.
April 28, 2010 in the Ministry of Economic Development held the ceremony of awarding the National Public Award in the field of volunteering for 2009. PARS "Petersburg Parents" was awarded the first place in the nomination "Volunteering in non-profit non-governmental organizations (NPO)" - the best project of the year.
Projects
- “Children are waiting” - the project is an Internet portal for children waiting for the Russian Federation, containing a database of children subject to a family unit. The project was implemented jointly with the Committees of General and Professional Education of the administrative entities of the North-West region of the Russian Federation. The site contains more than 1,500 questionnaires of children containing professional photos and detailed stories about children.
- “Refusers” - the project is aimed at providing material assistance to children's social institutions - shelters, orphanages, hospitals, children's homes, boarding schools.
- "Nursing care" - the organization of care for nannies for children left without parental care in hospitals, providing children with full, timely care.
- "Medical" - the organization of additional medical care, individual treatment; conducting training sessions for the development of children's sanitary and hygienic skills necessary for the prevention of diseases. Directions of work - dentistry, ophthalmology, rehabilitation, assistance in the treatment of hearing, massage for abandoned children.
- “Social adaptation” is the preparation of children from orphanages for independent living in society. Volunteers hold consultations and business games on vocational guidance, conversations on the topic of the family, legal aspects; They also organize excursions to the city’s enterprises, master classes and meetings with specialists of various professions. The project contributes to the initial employment of graduates of orphanages.
- “Volunteer service” - volunteers visit children in hospitals and children's homes, organize leisure activities, care for children. In shelters and orphanages conduct training sessions and games for older children.
- “Artists for Children” - volunteer artists paint the walls in orphanages and hospitals.
- "All-terrain vehicle" and "Holiday in an orphanage" - organizing holidays for orphanages and hospitals, organizing excursions and trips, city street events.
- "Sports" - the development of sports in orphanages, assistance in acquiring sports equipment, organizing sports workshops, team games and competitions. Also, movement volunteers teach children choreography, introduce dance styles.
- The “right to choose” is the prevention of adolescents' risky behavior: conversations and classes on topics related to HIV prevention, alcohol and nicotine addiction, drug addiction, early pregnancy, and also on managing conflicts, emotions, and communication skills.
- “Mother is near” - the organization of a shelter, psychological help and support for young mothers who are in a difficult life situation. Specialists working in the shelter, work with young women, aimed at preventing abandonment of the child.
- “Life on behalf of the family” - accompanying families with foster children, organizing consultations of professional specialists - lawyers, psychologists, doctors; joint activities for children and parents.
