Biography
Born on November 25, 1915 in the village of Borykovo, now Staritsky district, Tver region . Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1941. In adolescence, he moved to his father, who worked as a steamer engineer in Leningrad. He graduated from 6 classes and the school of the Federal University "Young Vodnik". He worked as a locksmith.
In the Red Army since 1934, on a Komsomol trip, he entered a flight school. In 1936 he graduated from the Kachin Military Aviation Pilot School. Member of the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. On the fronts of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. Defended the Crimea and Sevastopol from the enemy, liberated the North Caucasus and the Kuban, bombed the Koenigsberg fortifications.
The commander of the squadron of the 367th Bomber Aviation Regiment, captain Ivan Tyulenev, by July 1943, made one hundred and fifty-six successful sorties to attack the enemy’s troops and bombard his targets, causing significant damage to the enemy.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 24, 1943, for the exemplary performance of command missions on the front of the struggle against Nazi invaders and the courage and heroism shown to this, Captain Ivan Nikolaevich Tyulenev was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .
In total, during the year of the war, a bomber pilot flew three hundred and six sorties, as a result of which more than a regiment of enemy infantry was destroyed, seventeen enemy aircraft were burnt on the ground, twenty-three tanks, ninety vehicles with troops and cargo, one hundred and thirty guns were blown up, a railroad train , at the location of the enemy troops caused forty-three fires.
In 1947, I. N. Tyulenev graduated from the Higher Flight Tactical Advanced Training Courses for Officers, and in 1956, the Military Academy of the General Staff. Since 1950, he served in the Navy of the USSR. He commanded an aviation division. Since 1958, Colonel I. Tyulenev, retired due to illness.
An honored veteran of two wars lived in the administrative center of the Nikolaev region of Ukraine - the city of Nikolaev. Prior to retirement, he worked as chairman of the factory committee of the Metallist plant. He died on January 21, 1987. He was buried in Nikolaev .
He was awarded two Orders of Lenin , two Orders of the Red Banner , the Order of Alexander Nevsky , two Orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, the Order of the Red Star , and medals.
