Acanthopulvinaria discoidalis (lat.) Is a species of half-winged insects - a coccid of the genus Acanthopulvinaria from the family Pseudoscutis ( Coccidae ) [1] .

Africa: Egypt (Suez Road, at the 7th Tower). Asia: Israel [1] [2] .

Description

The main color is dark brown. They feed on the juices of such amaranth plants as Haloxylon schweinfurthii saxaul , Haloxylon articulatum , Anabasis articulata , Haloxylon ( Amaranthaceae ). The species was first described in 1923 by entomologist W.J. Hall ( WJ ) as Pulvinaria discoidalis [1] [3] [4] [5] . The taxon Acanthopulvinaria discoidalis was isolated into a separate genus Acanthopulvinaria Borchsenius, 1952, together with the species Acanthopulvinaria orientalis Nasonov , 1908 [1] .
