Biography
She was born in 1918 in the village of Lugovoye (today - Kulan , Ryskulovsky district , Zhambyl region , Kazakhstan ). In 1941, she entered the Belbasar collective farm of the Dzhambul region. Initially, she worked as an ordinary collective farmer. In 1943, a beet-growing link was appointed.
In 1945, a beet-growing unit under the leadership of Kulai Tungatarova collected 125 centners of sugar beets instead of the planned 103 centners. In 1946, 130 centners were collected instead of the plan of 110 centners. In 1947, the link gathered 500 centners instead of the plan of 220 centners. For this valiant work, in 1948 she was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
