Biography
Nikolay Sergeenkov was born on May 8, 1916 in the village of Upino (now the Khislavichi district of the Smolensk region ). After graduating from the seven-year school, he worked as an agronomist. In 1938, Sergeyenkov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. In 1940, he graduated from the Melitopol Military Aviation School of flight labs and navigators. Since July 1941 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By the autumn of 1943, Captain Nikolai Sergeenkov was the navigator of the 99th guards separate reconnaissance air regiment of the 15th Air Army of the Bryansk Front . By that time, he had completed 120 sorties to aerial reconnaissance and bombardment of accumulations of military equipment and manpower of the enemy, his important objects [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of September 2, 1943, for the "exemplary performance of command assignments and shown courage and heroism in battles with the German invaders" of the guard, Captain Nikolai Sergeyenkov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal number 1739 [1] .
February 28, 1944 Sergeenkov died in battle. He was buried in a mass grave in the village of Krasny Poselok, Velikoluksky district, Pskov region [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and World War 1 degree, a number of medals. Forever enrolled in the lists of personnel of the military unit [1] .
