Biography

He was born on March 17, 1924 in the village of Antonovka, now Talnovsky District, Cherkasy Region of Ukraine, into a peasant family. Ukrainian. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1949. He graduated from seven classes of junior high school and factory school apprenticeship. He worked as a mechanic at the nitrogen fertilizer plant in Dneprodzerzhinsk, then in Voroshilovgrad at the plant named after the October Revolution.

In 1941, drafted into the ranks of the Red Army . In the battles of World War II from October 1941. In 1944 he graduated from junior lieutenant courses. He fought on the 1st Belorussian Front .

The platoon commander of the 1285th Infantry Regiment, Lieutenant A.K.Shlyakhtich distinguished himself during the crossing of the Vistula River on January 16, 1945 in the area of ​​the village of Nowy Dvur, now the city of Nowy Dvur Mazowiecki, north of Warsaw. Under strong artillery and machine-gun fire on broken ice, the platoon of A.K. Shlyakhtich was among the first to cross the river. At the bridgehead he participated in repelling a number of fierce enemy counterattacks. Then the soldiers knocked out the enemy from several fortified positions.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of February 27, 1945, for the courage and heroism shown when crossing the Vistula and holding the bridgehead on its western shore, Lieutenant Alexei Konstantinovich Shlyakhtich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Golden Star medal .

In 1946-1951 he served in the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR and in the organs of the Ministry of State Security of the USSR. In 1951 he graduated from advanced training courses for officers and continued to serve in the Soviet Army . Since 1968, Lieutenant Colonel A.K. Shlyakhtich is in stock. He lived in the hero city of Kiev. He died on December 22, 1981. He was buried in Kiev at the Berkovtsy City Cemetery.
