Overview
Creation
Atomic Betty is one of an increasing number of cartoons made using Adobe Flash , and, accordingly, has a more “smooth” or “machine” animation, which distinguishes it from cartoons made in the traditional style. Ironically, the cartoon was significantly influenced by the classic animated show The Jetsons, created by Hanna Barbera.
Story
The series focuses on Betty, a typical teenager who goes to school, watches science fiction films and sings in her group. But also, she has another side of life, unknown to most of her friends and family. She is a Galactic Guard who has dedicated her life to preserving peace and law in the Galaxy. Like Atomic Betty, accompanied by an alien pilot Sparky, and the X-5 robot, she confronts an evil genius - Maximus Ay. Kew. Despite her modest life on Earth, Atomic Betty is a superstar across the galaxy, and even has a fan club of loyal fans.
In every episode, somewhere in the galaxy, a crisis happens while Betty plays with friends. And every time her bracelet starts to blink, and she is forced to run away - to save the galaxy. With the help of his team, Betty each time manages to defeat evil before the time comes to return home. In the Russian version, the series is called Betty - Lightning, respectively, it is more advisable to further use this "nickname".
Characters
Main characters
- Betty / Betty Lightning is the main character of the show, a very unusual 12-year-old girl from Moose Jaw Heights (the fictitious name of the city is Moose Jaw ("Elk Jaw"), located in the province of Saskatchewan (Canada). In terms of public awareness, Betty is a dangerous predator, and has tomboistic [1] (a brief description of the word is at the bottom of the page) character traits, even though she is in love with a classmate named Dylan.
- Noah Parker is Betty's best friend, and despite the fact that he considers her a little strange (strange), he secretly loves her, but cannot express his feelings. He does not know that Betty is a Galactic Guard, and often thinks that Betty disappears under strange circumstances.
- Sparky is the first lieutenant and co-pilot of the Hypergalactic Star Cruiser. He has a gigantic appetite (and the talent to use his four stomachs (like a cow's) in order to store this food). Sparky is not the smartest alien in the galaxy, but his energy, enthusiasm and devotion well compensate for his lack of intelligence.
- X-5 robot is the third member of the Betty team. Despite some obsolescence (by Galactic standards), it remains a good walking database containing information that may be necessary for the team. X-5 is an outstanding robot (he says so to himself). He will tell you a lot about different types of aliens ... and even more. They often argue with Sparky, but occasionally there are moments between them when they show respect for each other.
- Admiral DeGill is a short-haired goldfish who is the Commander of the 147th battalion of Galactic Guardians and Protectors of the Planets. Including, he is the commander of Betty.
- Penelope Lang - Betty's Earth rival, who (Penelope) considers herself the most popular diva in the school. She is rich, spoiled, and often uses her popularity or wealth to undermine Betty's reputation, which usually has the opposite effect. She usually walks in company with two sneakers - Megan and Sarah. She likes to achieve her goals, even if for this she has to “step over” others (in fact, she likes it even more!).
- Maximus Ay. Kew. - A clumsy supervillain, similar to a cat, and he believes that there is something royal in him. Maximus has one simple dream - to spread his evil rules to all intelligent creatures in the universe. He is obsessed with the idea of defeating Betty and finding her home planet (in some respects, he came close to this goal, including the once built base near Jupiter).
- Minimus is a little monkey-sneak of Maximus with two faces evil and kind, Always suffers from Maximus's ventures.
Notes
- ↑ Tomboistic - a free interpretation of the word "Tomboy", which is usually used to describe a girl playing the "behavioral" role of a boy.
