Biography

Born on February 21, 1905 in the village of Krasny Yar, now Ileksky district of the Orenburg region in a peasant family. Member of the CPSU (b) / CPSU since 1943. He worked on the farm.

In the Red Army in 1923-25 ​​and since June 1941. He graduated from the school of snipers. On the front in the Great Patriotic War from December 1941.

The sniper-observer of the 595th rifle regiment, senior sergeant Fyodor Chegodaev, by May 1942, destroyed two hundred and fifty opponents with a sniper rifle.

By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 21, 1942, for exemplary performance of combat tasks of the command on the front of the fight against the German enemy invaders and the courage and heroism shown to senior sergeant Chegodaev Fedor Kuzmich was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal " .

In 1943, FK Chegodaev was demobilized. He returned to his homeland - in the Orenburg region. He lived in the village of Ilek. He worked as head of the military department of the Ilek district party committee. He died on October 11, 1971.
