Biography

Born on August 28, 1922 in the village of Shunkino [1] in a peasant family. Member of the CPSU / CPSU since 1943. In 1940 he graduated from a seven-year school. He was the foreman of the field crew of the Khleborob collective farm.

In 1941 he was drafted into the Red Army . He got to the front only in February 1943. He fought in the intelligence of the 181st Infantry Division. For courage and bravery shown in the battles in the Bryansk direction, Private Beshnov was awarded the medal "For Military Merit." Particularly distinguished during the liberation of Ukraine .

On the night of January 12, 1944, a reconnaissance platoon of a horse reconnaissance platoon of the 286th infantry regiment, Private Beshnov, as part of a group, secretly penetrated the rear of the enemy in the vicinity of the village of Voloshino, Stepansky district, Rivne region . Ambush scouts attacked an enemy convoy, destroying more than 70 opponents with automatic fire and grenades. A battle ensued in the rear served as a signal for the advance of the division. Capturing a captured machine gun, Beshnov for an hour covered the crossing of the infantry across the river. Then he was the first to break into Voloshino, in a street battle he destroyed about 10 more opponents and captured two. By order of the 181st Infantry Division of March 10, 1944, for his courage and bravery shown in battle, Private Ivan Beshnov was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree.

During the general summer offensive, Corporal Beshnov acted as equestrian liaison officer. July 27, 1944 in the area of ​​the city of Krasnik, delivering the order of the commander of the 283rd Infantry Regiment to the battalions that had gone ahead, came across German wagons. Taking the initiative, he destroyed five soldiers and captured several. The carts were new 82-mm mortars. By order of the troops of the 13th Army dated October 28, 1944, for bold and proactive actions in carrying out combat missions of command, Corporal Beshnov Ivan Mikhailovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree.

There was also a reconnaissance platoon of horse reconnaissance platoon of the 243rd Infantry Regiment, Corporal Beshnov, and during the Vistula-Oder offensive operation in the winter of 1945. On January 15, during an attack on the city of Radomsko, he was one of the first to penetrate the enemy’s position. When pursuing an adversary, while on horseback , he always gave timely and accurate data about the adversary, the analysis of which made it possible to make the right decisions on the environment and destruction of individual enemy units. On January 21, being behind enemy lines as part of a capture group, near the village of Ostrow Wielkopolski, unexpectedly encountering a retreating group of opponents, point-blank destroyed fifteen and captured ten soldiers and officers.

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1945, for the extraordinary courage, courage and fearlessness shown in battles with enemy invaders, Corporal Beshnov Ivan Mikhailovich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

After the Victory, the foreman Beshnov was demobilized. He returned to his homeland and was elected chairman of the collective farm named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky. But the wounds received during the war made themselves felt. In 1949, the medical commission recognized him as a disabled person of the 2nd group, and he was forced to go on vacation. For family reasons, he moved to the city of Saratov . He worked as the controller-auditor of the Saratov branch of the Volga Railway. He died on May 26, 1984.

He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, Orders of Glory of 3 degrees, medals.
