Biography
He was born in 1926 in the village of Pushkari now in the Novgorod-Seversky district of the Chernihiv region of Ukraine into a peasant family. Ukrainian.

The commander of the 1st Infantry Regiment’s detachment, Senior Sergeant Peter Sharpilo, was among the first to cross the Danube River on December 4, 1944, in the area of the settlement of Mariakhaz, located north of the Hungarian city of Erci.
On December 5, 1944, a brave warrior replaced the out-of-command platoon commander and organized an attack on an enemy stronghold. In this battle, Sergeant P. Sharpilo died. He was buried in the cemetery of Soviet soldiers in the city of Erchi.
