Globe Life Park in Arlington is a baseball stadium located in Arlington ( Texas , USA). It is the home stadium of the Texas Rangers Major League Baseball Club and also houses the Texas Rangers Baseball Hall of Fame. The stadium was built as a replacement for the old Arlington Stadium . Until May 7, 2004, the building was called “ Ballpark in Arlington, ” but after Ameriquest bought the title, it was renamed “ Americanwest Field in Arlington .” On March 19, 2007, the Texas Rangers broke an agreement with Ameriquest and renamed the stadium the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington . On February 5, 2014, Globe Life and Accident Insurance Company purchased the title of the stadium.

History
Texas Rangers stadium funding was approved by Arlington City Council in 1991. Construction began on April 2, 1992 and took place next to Arlington Stadium, the stadium that was to replace the new structure. The first event at Arlington's Ballpark took place on April 1, 1994, which was a friendly game between the Rangers and the New York Mets . The first official game took place on April 11, in which the Rangers rival Milwaukee Brewers .
The stadium attendance record was recorded on October 30, 2010, when 52,419 people came to watch the third game of the World Series against the San Francisco Giants .
