Term
The dictionary of foreign words derives the term from the French pensionnat [1] . However, in the main French explanatory dictionaries there is no traditional Russian meaning of this word (see above): the word pensionnat is present only in the meaning of school, educational institution [2] [3] .
The term is missing in the classical dictionaries of the Russian language, such as the Dahl Dictionary and Ushakov Dictionary , as well as in all three editions of the Great Soviet Encyclopedia . A dictionary entry for the term appears in dictionaries of the late Soviet period - Ozhegov’s Dictionary [4] , the Dictionary of Foreign Words [1] , the Soviet Encyclopedic Dictionary as a synonym for the term holiday home .
Description
Pensions, as a rule, are located in picturesque and resort places. In addition to residential premises, boarding houses usually have their own guarded fenced area with all the necessary infrastructure: parking lots, alleys with benches, green spaces, dining rooms and cafes, sports and playgrounds, etc. Boarding houses located on the coast have their own landscaped beach area with rental boats, catamarans, etc. [5] .
