History
The company was founded in 1939 as the Design Bureau for the creation of automatic aircraft propellers and their hydromechanical control systems. [3]
Starting from the first AV-1 automatic propeller, almost all USSR aircraft used the screws and regulators of the Stupinsky Design Bureau. High aerodynamic performance and survivability of the propellers contributed to the success of Soviet aviation during the Great Patriotic War . For the short pre-war period and during the years of World War II, the OKB team developed more than 12 types of propellers, produced in quantities of more than 100,000 pieces. The aircraft were equipped with them: I-15 , I-16 , I-153 , Li-2 , MiG-3 , Su-3 , Pe-2 , Il-2 , Il-4 , Il-10 , TU-2 , Pe- 8 .
The rapid development of turboprop aircraft required the rapid creation of fundamentally new propellers. The company has created a whole family of reliable AB ™ family propellers and regulators for the An-8 , An-10 , An-12 , Be-12 , An-24 , An-26 , An-28 , Il-18 , Il-38 aircraft An-30 and An-32 . Coaxial propellers for Tu-95 , Tu-114 and An-22 aircraft [4] (Antey) still have no analogues in the world of screw building. In the same period, the company created propellers for ekranoplanes and snowmobiles , as well as tail rotors for helicopters Mi-1 , Mi-6 , Mi-10 , Mi-10K .
Since 1956, the company began to create auxiliary gas turbine engines for the Armed Forces . For a short period, the enterprise developed and put into operation VGTD of the TA ™ family for Tu-154 , Tu-154M , Tu-134A , Tu-144 , Tu-160 , Tu-22M , Tu-204 , Il-62 , Il-62M aircraft , IL-76 , IL-76MD , Yak-42 , An-22 , An-124 , An-74 , A-40 "Albatross" , Mi-26 helicopter.
In the 1960s and 1970s, a family of rotary thrusters and discharge fans for hovercraft was created.
During the development of supersonic aviation, the company developed power ball screw converters to change the sweep of the wing of the MiG-23 , Tu-22M , Su-24 , Tu-144 , Tu-160 aircraft .
OJSC NPP Aerosila has developed 115 propellers for 85 objects, 15 VGTD for 47 aircraft and helicopters and 10 types of ball screw converters for 7 types of aircraft.
In 1970, the An-22 plane crashed near Panagarh due to the destruction of the AB-90 propeller. The Commission concluded that there was insufficient control over the manufacturing technology of propeller blades; perhaps a similar failure was the cause of the earlier catastrophe of another AN-22 over the Atlantic Ocean . The detected defects were eliminated at the Aerosila plant in Stupino and since 1971 there have been no failures of the AV-90 screws. [four]
