Biography
Born in 1914 in the city of Verny. She graduated from five grades of elementary school. In 1930, at the age of 16, she joined the Kalinin collective farm in the Shuy district of the Dzhambul region (later it was renamed the Birlik-Eastem collective farm). Initially, she worked as an ordinary collective farmer, later a beet-growing link was appointed.
In 1947, a beet-growing unit under the leadership of Batima Shmasheva collected 800 centners of sugar beets from a 2-hectare site instead of the planned 385 centners. For this valiant work, she was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor in 1948.
