Club career
Agustin Balbuena began his professional football career in 1964 at the Argentine club Colon . Balbuena achieved the greatest successes, speaking for the Argentinean “ Independiente ” in 1971-1975. It was also the most successful period in the history of the Independiente, when he became the winner of the Libertadores Cup four times.
International Career
Agustin Balbuena was in the Argentine national team at the 1974 World Cup . Of the 6 matches of Argentina at the tournament, Balbuena appeared in 4. He played in the starting lineup in the matches of the first group stage against the national team of Poland and the second group stage against the Netherlands and Brazil . In the game with the Haitian national team in the first stage, Balbuen in the 52nd minute replaced striker Mario Kempes [1] .
