Biography
From 1907 to 1910 he taught at the University of Agriculture in Montevideo ( Uruguay ) - professor of botany and phytopathology. Since 1911 he worked at Kiel University .
Since 1915 - at the University of Rostock .
Since 1918 - professor of botany at the Braunschweig Technical University , was his rector in 1932-1933.
In 1934 - 1939 he headed the state plant protection service and the biological service of the Fahlberg-List AG company in Magdeburg .
In 1945 he again headed the Braunschweig Technical University and remained in this position until 1948.
Since 1946 - President of the Union of Agricultural and Forestry Institutions.
Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Natural Sciences.
Member of the German Academy of Nature Researchers Leopoldina and the Swedish Academy of Agricultural Sciences.
Honorary Doctor of the University of Gottingen .
