Biography
Fedor Sarychev was born on February 19, 1918 in the village of Azarapino (now the Narovchat District of the Penza Region ). After completing seven classes of school and agricultural engineering, he worked as a mechanic in a machine-tractor station. In 1940 he was called up to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, in 1941 he graduated from the courses of junior lieutenants, in 1942 - courses "Shot" . Since July 1942 - on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War [1] .
By January 1945, Captain Fyodor Sarychev commanded the battalion of the 244th Guards Rifle Regiment of the 82nd Guards Rifle Division of the 8th Guards Army of the 1st Belorussian Front . Distinguished during the liberation of Poland . On January 14, 1945, the Sarychev battalion broke through powerful enemy defenses from the Magnushevsky bridgehead , inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. Having consolidated on the captured lines, he successfully repelled all enemy counterattacks. February 19, 1945 Sarychev died in the battles for Poznan . Buried in Poznan [1] .
By the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, for “courage and bravery shown in the Vistula-Oder operation”, guard Captain Fyodor Sarychev was posthumously awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union .
He was also awarded the Order of Lenin , Alexander Nevsky and the Red Star , along with a number of medals [1] .
Memorial
- The bust of Fyodor Sarychev was installed in the village of Narovchat on the Alley of Heroes - natives and residents of the Narovchat district of the Penza region.
