Club career

Born February 17, 1986 in the city of Dublin . Pupil of the football school of the club " Bolton Wanderers ."

In 2004, John was leased to Sheffield Wensday , where O'Brien made his professional debut in adult football.

After a year of leasing, O'Brien returned to Bolton, in May he played his first match for the Wanderers, replacing Fernando Hierro at the end of the game with Everton . The next 5 seasons the defender spent in the Wanderers.

In 2011, O'Brien moved to Sheffield Wensday for the second time in his career on loan, and later signed a contract with West Ham United . August 16 John for the first time since 2005 managed to score a goal.

International Career
