Dante Exam ( born Dante Exum ; born July 13, 1995 in Melbourne , Victoria , Australia ) is an Australian professional basketball player who plays for the Utah Jazz team at the National Basketball Association . He plays the position of point guard and attacking defender . He was selected in the first round under the general 5th number in the 2014 NBA draft [1] .

Career
Exam played for the Australian national team in the tournament of the World Basketball Championship (U-17 boys) in 2012 and the World Basketball Championship (U-19 boys) in 2013. He scored 18.2 points and 3.8 assists on average in 2013.
Exam was invited to play for the world team in the Nike Hoop Summit tournament in April 2013. Scored 16 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists.
January 24, 2014 put forward his candidacy for the NBA draft [2] .
NBA
July 12, 2014 Exam signed a contract with Utah in the amount of 3.9 million dollars. He also signed contracts with sponsors Adidas and Red Bull [3] .
Exam took part in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas [4] . In 5 matches he scored 7.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists on average.
His debut in the NBA took place on October 29, 2014 in a match against Houston Rockets , in which he scored 5 points, made one transfer and one interception [5] . Three days later, in the match against the Phoenix Suns "" he scored 10 points, having realized 3 of 4 shots from behind the arc [6] , and on January 2, 2015 he set his own performance record by scoring 13 points in the match against Atlanta Hawks [7 ] .

His father, Seisil Dante Exam, played basketball for the University of North Carolina with Michael Jordan. [2]
