Cabell County

Cabell County is located in the United States , West Virginia . It was officially formed on January 2 , 1809 , got its name in honor of the American political and statesman William Cabella . As of 2012 , the population was 96,974 people.

According to the United States Census Bureau , the county’s total area is 746 km², of which 728 km² is land and 18 km² or 2.4% are water bodies.

Demographics

According to the 2000 census [1] , 96,784 residents of 41,180 households and 25,490 families live in the okrug. The population density is 133 people per km ². There are 45 615 residential buildings in the district, with a building density of 63 buildings per km ². Racial composition of the population: white - 93.37%, African - Americans - 4.29%, Native Americans ( Indians ) - 0.18%, Asians - 0.77%, Hawaiians - 0.04%, representatives of other races - 0.20 %, representatives of two or more races - 1.14%. Hispanics accounted for 0.68% of the population, regardless of race .

In the composition of 25.20% of the total number of households , children under the age of 18 live, 47.10% of households are married couples living together, 11.60% of households are single women without a spouse, 38.10% of households households are not related to families , 31.30% of households consist of one person, 12.50% of households consist of elderly people (65 years and older) living alone. The average household size is 2.77 people and the average family size is 2.85 people.

The age structure of the district: 20.00% under the age of 18, 13.50% from 18 to 24, 26.80% from 25 to 44, 23.60% from 45 to 64, and 16.00% from 65 and older. The average age of a resident of the district is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 91.40 males . For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 88.50 males .

The average household income in the district was 28,479 USD , per family - 37,691 USD . The average male earnings were 31,780 USD against 22,243 USD for a woman . The per capita income was 17 638 USD . About 13.70% of families and 19.20% of the total population were below the poverty line , including 24.60% of youth (those who were not yet 18 years old) and 10.80% of those who were already over 65 years old.
