Nemotelus niloticus (lat.) Is a species of diptera insects of the genus Nemotelus of the Lionka family (Stratiomyidae) [1] [2] . First described in 1811 by the French naturalist Guillaume Antoine Olivier [3] .

Distribution Description
It is considered endemic to Egypt [4] [5] , although relatively recently Nemotelus niloticus has been discovered in Italy [6] .
The insect is black. It looks like Nemotelus pantherinus , but the proboscis is slightly longer [7] .
