Yang Yuan ( wh. Ex . 阳 原 , pinyin : Yángyuán ) is the county district of Zhangjiakou Province, Hebei Province ( PRC ).

History
In these places is located the archaeological monument of Xiaochanglian ( Nihewan basin, Nihewan English ) with Olduvai guns, which dates back to 1.36 Ma [1] [2] .
A county named Yangyuan existed in these places during the Western Han Empire, but during the Eastern Han Empire it was disbanded.
When the Qing Empire in 1692, Xining County was established (西宁 县). After the Xinhai Revolution , due to the fact that there was also a Xining county in Gansu province, this Xining county was renamed into Yanyuan in honor of the county that existed during the Western Han Empire. He became part of the Special Administrative Region of Chahar (察哈尔 特别 区), which in 1928 was allocated to a separate province of Chahar .
When the Sino-Japanese war began in 1937 and these lands were seized by the Japanese, on September 4 they created the puppet Autonomous Government of Southern Chahar , and these lands came under its jurisdiction. On November 22, 1937, the Autonomous Government of the United Mongolian Aimag , the Autonomous Government of Southern Chahar, and the Autonomous Government of Northern Jin formed the Mengjiang Joint Committee . On September 1, 1939, the Autonomous Government of the United Mongolian Aimag, the Autonomous Government of Southern Chahar and the Autonomous Government of Northern Jin merged into the United Autonomous Government of Menjiang , located in Kalgan (in Mengjiang, the structure of the Autonomous Government of Southern Chahar was transformed into a new unit, and became a non-stop for women, and the structure of the Autonomous Government of South Chahar was transformed into a new women’s unit, and the United States Ian Jiang was rebuilt. was converted to Xuanhua Province). In 1945, Mengjiang and Japan were defeated by Soviet and Mongolian troops, and these lands returned to the Republic of China, where civil war broke out in 1946-1949, culminating in the victory of the communists.
In 1949, the South Chakhara Special District was established (区 专区), and the county became part of it. In 1952, Chahar Province and the South Chakhar Special District were disbanded, and the county became part of the Zhangjiakou Special District (张家口 专区) of Hebei Province. In May 1958, the Special District of Zhangjiakou was disbanded, and these lands were directly subordinated to the administration of the city of Zhangjiakou, but in May 1961, the Special District of Zhangjiakou was recreated in the same format. In December 1967, the Zhangjiakou Special District was renamed Zhangjiakou District (张家口 地区).
On July 1, 1993, Zhangjiakou City and Zhangjiakou County were merged into Zhangjiakou City District.
