Description

Small-sized mantises, characterized by anterior tibia with two ventral rows of spines. The species Chaeteessites minutissimus was first described in 1993 by Russian paleoentomologists Vadim Gennadevich Grachev and Vladimir Vasilyevich Zherikhin ( PIN RAS , Moscow ), together with the species Baissomantis maculata , Baissomantis picta , Cretophotina mongolica , Kazakhophotina coropens , Vitophotina coropens , Megophotina coropens , Megophotina coropens , Megophotina coropens , Megophotina coropens , Megophotina coropens . Valid status was confirmed in 2003 during an audit of the Cretaceous mantis by American entomologist David Grimaldi ( Grimaldi David A. , American Museum of Natural History , USA ). Taxon Ch. minutissimus is included in the genus Chaeteessites , whose taxonomic position is unclear and therefore not included in any of the mantis families (considered as Incertae Sedis , although the authors of the first description originally included it in Chaeteessidae ) [1] [2] [3] .
