Geography
The commune is located approximately 455 km southeast of Paris , 4.5 km northwest of Lyon [1] , on the edge of the A6 motorway.
The territory of the commune is located at heights in the north-eastern part of the Central massif . 65% of the commune’s area is natural.
History
In the vicinity of Limone, one of the battles of the final stage of the Napoleonic Wars took place . On March 16 - 20, 1814, Austrian troops defeated the so-called Rhone army here under the command of General Augereau . The French retreated to Lyon, and on March 21 the Austrians entered there [2] [3] . After the fall of the First Empire, the region remained occupied by Austrian forces from 1815 to 1818 .

Economics
In Limon is the technopark Parc du Puy d'Or ( Parc du Puy d'Or ), which is part of the West Lyon Economic Pole [7] [8] .
On the lands of the commune, on the heights of Mont Verdin, is the base of the Air Force of France . Also in the commune is the antenna of the Chamber of Commerce of Lyon.
