In games

In most games is the youngest. In the game, sevens are older than the ace and are the second highest card after the three .

Poker

In some varieties of poker, it can play the role of a joker , replacing any card ( eng. Deuces wild - “deuces free”). [one]

In Texas Hold'em, the combination of the two with the seven of different suits is the worst possible starting hand, since these are the youngest cards that cannot simultaneously be part of a straight or a flush. This combination is sometimes informally called “beer hand” ( English beer hand ) - it is believed that only a very drunk player can put on such cards. [2]

Four deuces - the worst starting hand in Omaha

In Omaha hi-lo, the worst of all possible hands are four twos. Since the combination must include exactly two player cards, this can be only two deuces; thus, the weakest (low) combination cannot be collected. On the other hand, it is difficult to make a strong (hi) combination for a number of reasons. Since there can not be twos among the open cards, it is impossible to collect thrips or four of a kind, and any of the opponents will have a higher pair if one of their cards matches one of the table cards. In addition, it is impossible to make a flash with four hole cards of various suits.

Solitaire

In most solitaire games , where the ace is the lowest card, is the second lowest after the ace; With a two, the collection of cards begins in ascending order to the basic aces.

Card Design

The traditional card design in the French suit system includes two symbols (points) of the suit in the upper and lower parts of the card, oriented in opposite directions. On modern maps in two opposite corners (less often - in all four) an index is given - numerical designation "2" and a reduced suit symbol.

In the Tarot deck , the two of the two of spades, clubs, tambourines and worms correspond to two of swords, wands, denarii and cups respectively. The following are images of these cards from the Visconti-Sforza tarot deck (1450), in which the suit of wands is replaced by arrows.

The peak two (along with the top five and the number seven ) is mentioned in the Lewis Carroll story Alice in Wonderland .

The Five and the Seven said nothing, but looked at the Two; he looked round and said softly

- Understand, young lady, it was necessary to plant red roses, and we, fools, planted white. If the Queen finds out, we, you know, will be beheaded. So, young lady, you know, we are trying here, until she came ...
